We were utterly reliant on Checkatrade to discover us a reliable contractor for our home improvement. We joined and listed our project details, but unfortunately, we were left high and dry.

It all starts with their sneaky fees, which they hide in the legalese. Then, there's the terrible support that's about as useful as a chocolate teapot. You can try to raise an issue, but it's like chasing ghosts.

We thought we were doing the right thing by using Checkatrade to find a reputable plumber/electrician/contractor. After all, they seemed so reliable with their vetted traders. Boy, were we wrong! Our experience was nothing short of a disaster.

Then, the communication from the "qualified" trader was lackluster/awful/terrible. He was unprofessional/rude/disrespectful and provided a quote that was outrageous/ridiculous/way too high. We tried to discuss the issues, but he was adamant/unwilling/stubborn to compromise/negotiate/change.

In the end, we ended up getting ripped off by this so-called "vetted" trader. Checkatrade's helpline was equally useless/incompetent/unhelpful. They offered us a pathetic excuse/blamed the trader/did nothing.

We're left feeling disappointed and suggest looking elsewhere for your tradesman needs.
